East Costa Rica Daily log
total to date. 13,495km.
Sun 13Th Nov. 53Km finish in Rio Claro, 34km from Panama.
Sat. 12Th 34 km. Finish 7km east of Palmar Niorte.
Fri 11th Nov update…13,508km run in 308 road days. About 140km from Panama.
Fri Nov 11th 2011, From Domical to Ojochal 34km. I planned to run 14km more but the rain was so torrential that I stopped at a hotel called Adelante Hotel. On the way I remembered that Ireland were playing Estonia in a vital Euro Championships play off soccer match.
Nov 10th 2011 from Roncador to Domical. 37km Slept in local restaurant/bar. Rained a lot last hour. Drying my clothes is a major problem for me now. Every morning I pull on damp clothes. I figure it will be cooling anyway as its hot by 6.30am.
Nov 9th From Parrita to Roncador. 36km, still on route 34. Very late start after a crazy commute and lots of time lost. Ran well with pack.
Daniel at the Restaurant Club Roncador brought out a mattress and blankets for me to sleep in the back of the restaurant. Thanks Daniel and staff.

You are right Tony, and we want to hear the good and the bad, you are entitled to complain now and then after all its hardly the easiest task you have undertaken. I think you always seem so positive and witty. So continue to share your tales with us all

Good luck TONY….be strong.

Hey Tony, i fell behind in the blog recently, dont know why but my RSS feed isn’t updating when you do so I missed a load of your posts. Its still an incredible read and like Ann says we want to hear about it all, the details are what make is special. I did the Dublin Marathon there a couple of weeks ago and was thinking of you, I will also be doing my new home marathon in Nice next week. 2 marathons in three weeks is my challenge this year thanks to you, lets see what we can come up with next year. Looking forward to reading lots more, keep up the great work.

This Tony i post on facebook with few pictures——Last Saturday I had the pleasure of running alongside an incredible individual – Tony Mangan, completing a stage of his run Around The World. The run started during the Dublin Marathon in October 2010, and will end at the same Marathon in 2014, after 50,000 kms have been covered. Tony has allready completed 14,000 kms, running an average of 40-50 km per day. He runs without any support and carrie…s a few kilograms of luggage. Unfortunetly this feat is not generating much media or sponsorship interest. FACEBOOK is a great way to share Tony’s accomplishment and get possible help – If you’re interested in this incredible person and his feat, please visit http://www.theworldjog.com/blog
If anyone has relatives or family in eastern Columbia, please contact Tony on his website. He needs an address to which he can send supplies needed for the next run and his climb of the Andes.

Thank you very much Ben. It was lovely running with you last Saturday. You are great that you are doing this for me as I got very little help and am compleetly overwhelmed that I cant get around to even small things!
I am afraid I made a mistake. I must have had the map of Colombia upside down in my head! It is actually the west of Colombia near the Equador border that I need the contacty and not the east! Hope you can change this detail!
Take care and happy running,
Tony
