Often I go running around the 2.4km loop at the Walkingstown triangle. I sometimes just intend to go for a short 10km run but have often felt good and ran 30-35km!
When this happens I go into the Half Way House much to the ammusement of the locals for a pint of water. The popular bar is fittingly just before the half way point on the marathon course.
Peter the barman became aware of my running ambitions over the years… So when it came for the family departure meal they came up trumps and sponsored me a family meal for 7!
I had a delicious roast lamb for my last supper and a cake was even brought out to my amazement.. We had a great time, Thanks to the owner Gerry, Patricia, Josie, and Peter.
Will have to return to their award winning restauraunt, thats for sure

Before the off.
Hi all! At last I finnally got started!
Did an interview for Setanta Ireland for the marathon program and also the Irish Times.
I had to start from the back of the field as the buggy was deemed a safety hazzard
Just a very brief report as am tired. Just back from a night out for family meal.
Ran 4.31 in Dublin marathon. Then crossed finish line which was my start..As previously explained I decided to then meet up with friends and started stopwatch after crossing my start line/marathon finish..
So as expected a slow average as I ran to my mams for the first night..
Day 1 Marathion kms dont count as previously explained I want to time this with a futute marathon and need to start finish in same location.
So todays official stat is: 2.7km in 3 hours and 01 minute!! How long would it take to run around the world at that pace!!
Setting out for Newbridge tomorrow and still no place to stay
may be camping…
Start will be delayed to accomodate my 2 good friends Liam Fenelon the Longford rd that put on my 48 hour treadmill attempt 2 years ago and the man that crewed and co-ordinated in for me..My wonderful crew man who came over specially for the start. As I got no place for him anymore as staying in mams he is staying with Liam.
I think I will be away around 9 or 9.30.
