"ANYONE GOT ANY GOOD CLASSIC ROCK ON THEIR COMPUTERS PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE, I LOVE TALKING ABOUT THIS STUFF!"
ok Tony, I know this is not about your trip home but seeing as U asked, Genesis, Genesis, Genesis - Peter Gabriel Genesis that is, Album, selling England by the pound was terrific escapist stuff in dreary old C&W land of Monaghan in early 70's, tracks; Firth of Fifth, Aisle of plenty, After the Ordeal and cinema show, not forgetting the quick release song ie easily digested after one listen,"I know what I like in your wardrobe"- fantastic harmonies, crazy vocals, Phil on drums and Steve Hackett on keyboards, I used to love this stuff running round the local Rossmore park even up to my recent hip arthritis diagnosis (Old motor bike accident I think)They were a much maligned progressive rock band turned tuneful with SEBYtP, Foxtrot and Lamb lies down on Broadway - the remaining albums I am afraid not up to scratch.Trick of the tail was start of the rot - too clinical, no passion. There was also a social element to some of their vocals - that I didnt like, I didnt like being preached to ! And when U are on subject of Bruce Springsteen, Try "further on up the road" live in Dublin ! Me ? Going to Imelda May 16th December ! Good luck Tony!
